About Me
I specialize in and am very interested in treating patients with heart valve conditions, such as aortic or mitral valve disease, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). I am dedicated to improving the outcome of patients with these conditions, particularly with less invasive treatments involving cardiac catheterization (transcatheter devices to treat the aortic and mitral valves). I also direct the Duke Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) Clinic for patients with this heart condition, where we provide comprehensive treatment, risk assessment, and genetic and family counseling for patients. I am actively involved in research in these areas, including ongoing multi-center trials and Duke-based studies.
