Gypsy Rose Blanchard is speaking out about her life months after being released from prison, where she served time for the murder of her mother, Clauddinnea "Dee Dee" Blanchard, in 2015. In an interview with ABC News, which aired on Thursday, Gypsy Rose Blanchard opened up to Juju Chang about her transition into normal life since her release from the Chillicothe Correctional Center on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023. Asked about her decision to stay in the limelight, she told Chang, "Sometimes I kind of feel like I have no choice."

Biden has maintained muted approach toward Trump trial, as jurors deliberate
As New York City jurors deliberate over whether to convict former President Donald Trump on charges that he falsified business records to hide a payment to an adult film star from the American public before the 2016 election, it's still not clear how President Joe Biden would address a potential guilty verdict. While generally speaking, running against a convicted felon could be a political gift, the Biden campaign is unlikely to dramatically alter its messaging if the jurors find Trump guilty, a senior campaign official told ABC News. The only way to stop Trump is at the ballot box, the official said, that Trump's future is up to voters, not the court.

North Korea sends balloons full of manure and trash over the border to South Korea
Around 260 air balloons carrying bags of manure and trash have been spotted across South Korea on Wednesday after they were sent over the border from North Korea, according to South Korea's Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incident reportedly stems from an incident on Sunday when North Korea criticized civic groups in Seoul for sending propaganda leaflets across the border first and subsequently threatened to send filth balloons back to South Korea as a countermeasure, ABC News has learned from the North Korean vice defense minister on the regime's official news outlet. The regime in North Korea has long complained about this type of action as civic groups have been known to send rice, essential medicine and leaflets accusing the North Korean regime of dictatorship.

Person killed after being sucked into plane's turbine engine on runway
A person has died after being sucked up into the running turbine engine of a plane at Amsterdam’s international airport, officials said. KLM Royal Dutch Airlines made the announcement on Wednesday that a “person ended up in a running aircraft engine” of a plane that was bound for Billund, Denmark at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport, according to KLM. “A fatal incident took place at Schiphol today during which a person ended up in a running aircraft engine,” KLM said following the incident.

Bystander shot in gunfire exchange between suspect, police at Kroger grocery store near Cincinnati
A bystander was shot as a suspect and police exchanged gunfire at a Kroger grocery store just outside of Cincinnati, on Wednesday, police said. Authorities were dispatched to the Kroger on Springdale Road just before 4 p.m. ET following a report of "shots fired," according to the Colerain Police Department in Colerain Township, Ohio. The suspect then pointed the weapon at officers "and gunfire ensued," he said.

John Lennon's 'Help!' guitar sells for a record $2.9 million at auction
On Wednesday, the first day of its "Music Icons" sale at the Hard Rock Cafe New York, Julien's Auctions sold a Framus 12-string hootenanny acoustic guitar used by John Lennon to record several Beatles classics for a whopping $2.9 million. According to the company, that makes it the most expensive Beatles guitar ever to sell at auction. The guitar was used by Lennon to record songs for their 1965 studio album "Help!" and film of the same name, helping create some of the band's biggest hits of the '60s.

The National Transportation Safety Board said Wednesday it is investigating a deadly natural gas explosion that rocked downtown Youngstown, Ohio. The explosion occurred near Central Square on Tuesday afternoon, police said, as they urged people to avoid the area. It is unclear what caused the blast, which impacted a building that contains a Chase bank and apartments, Youngstown Fire Chief Barry Finley said.

A massive volcanic eruption at the Sundhnúkur crater in Iceland on Wednesday spewed lava over 160 feet into the air, officials announced. The crater is located on the Reykjanes peninsula in southwesternIceland, where authorities evacuated the seaside town of Grindavík, including the country's biggest tourist attraction, the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa. Most of the 4,000 residents of Grindavik were permanently evacuated in November 2023 due to ongoing volcanic activity.

When 11-year-old Luke was getting ready to be adopted, he made one special request which was to invite his fourth-grade class at Brookland Middle School in Brookland, Arkansas, to watch his adoption get finalized in court. Luke's May 14 adoption was the culmination of months of bonding, a process he and his parents, Cassie and Bradley Kissinger, said was nearly instantaneous after they first met at a "connection event" hosted by Project Zero, an Arkansas nonprofit dedicated to promoting adoption.

HPV vaccine can reduce risk of multiple cancers in men, new study suggests
Nearly two decades after the launch of the first HPV vaccine, mounting evidence shows that people who got vaccinated are dramatically less likely to develop HPV-related cancers in adulthood. HPV is a common viral infection that causes an estimated 690,000 cases of cancer every year across the globe, according to researchers from the World Health Organization. The virus infects specific tissues, predisposing patients to develop cancers – including cervical, anal, and head and neck cancer.

Among the many words of wisdom Scott Thompson shared was the observation: "When someone [lets] you know that you are not for them, deal with the pain and hurt with the knowledge that this person just gave you back the most valuable thing in the world - your time."

All charges have been dismissed against star golfer Scottie Scheffler, who was arrested while in Louisville, Kentucky, for the PGA Championship earlier this month.
